Profile: Udo

Your personal background.
I'm a 40 year old system administrator, responsible for SAP systems within a datacenter in Germany. My computer experience started in 1981 and includes working with different computers... C64, Atari/Amiga, IBM Mainfraime, Unix Systems and of course PCs.
Another hobby is astronomy. I've never been an observer, but I love reading about astrophysics and cosmology.
I'm currently not a member of the BABB, the web forum associated to the Bad Astronomy website (www.badastronomy.com) but I'm interested in fighting against the misinformation which is spread about astronomy.
Your opinions about Einstein@Home
E@H combines two of my hobbies (see personal background).
And I am also fascinated about distributed computing. It's a great idea to spend unused CPU cycles to scientific work.
I personally think that SETI is a waste of time but when I heard of Einstein@Home I joined it immediately... and later on I also joined Orbit@Home (which is in an Alpha state currently).
