Our upload server (einstein4) is not working as it should. For now I disabled uploads, probably until tomorrow morning (CET) when I'm back at my desk.

Hallo BM!
Thanks for information, as on the server statuspage I didn´t see until any indication of non working upload servers. I was trying for more than 1/2h to upload some tasks.
In the list of project deamons there is upload/download server listed as running. So probalbly it would be helpful to divide this in upload server and download server in two lines.
Have a good night!

Kind regards and happy crunching
Martin

It seems that you got downloads also.

Update: Essentially tje main filesystem of the machine ran full. While freeing up some space by deleting files in the background, I am investigating what data may have been lost or damaged in the shutdown process. Until this has been cleared up, I'm afraid turning on uploads back on may do even more harm.

It is also being investigated why our otherwise pretty sensitive and reliable monitoring system didn't gave us any warning.

Not down but overloaded, it should clear in a while if it survives the onslaught.

Be patient. Every so often one of my files uploads. I downloaded 6 tasks an hour ago. Soon this will be just a memory ;)

I had 12 to upload. 2 have worked. 10 still to go. Give them a chance to catch up. If they could clear backlogs quickly, they would have too much capacity for normal running.

The worst thing is not getting any new tasks for the machines that do manage to upload and report some tasks... I'm largely out of work, damn me and my tiny cache settings.

Edit: OK, I caught the last event log messages from one machine that reported completed work...

The best thing to do is to set up backup projects with ressource share set to 0. BOINC will only request a minimum of work from these until the main project is back again.

I have a list of 21 tasks (and growing) that are still not uploading. Any idea when the service will be back to normal?

Mine are not back to normal yet but after a few *Retrys* they upload and the download works fine for me.

I plan ahead so I never run out of tasks here.

Thanks Bernd

I have been re-trying but still have 1 to upload. I haven't received any downloads for 9 hours but I have a cache of 7.5 days so no problem!

Still no joy if I don't get some new CPU work my Einstein machine will default to Seti in about 1.5 hr, might this be karma because my 2 Seti boxes were forced to Einstein during their recent period of woe?
