A lovely sunny day over here.

Well if the weather Gods continue the pattern they have been on for Centuries then your weather over there is going to change!! It has been raining at my place since last Wednesday at least and it's STILL raining this morning!! It is supposed to get much warmer though by this weeks end, hopefully at least!!

It is isn't it!? :) I'm not going to blink once today. I did yesterday because a small flying thing eyeballed me in a suicide mission, poor thing, and the sunny day went away rather rudely.

I've got a couple of force fields protecting my eyesight :)

It was quite warm mid morning

It was quite warm mid morning but has cooled down a little bit now.

Was this before or after the altercation with the brick wall, and is there any link between the two occurrences? Enquiring minds and all that ....

And can we define "small flying thing" Midge, fruit fly, Bee, Robin, Pigeon, Airbus A318?

Waiting for Godot & salvation :-)

Why do doctors have to practice?
You'd think they'd have got it right by now

But it is a PITA when something gets in behind the force field and can't get out!

Greenfly do seem to be attracted to the lenses of my glasses for some inexplicable reason.

What is a bigger PITA is when walking in the rain, the rain gets behind your glasses not in front of them! Never mind all these millions spent looking for gravity waves, lets design some glasses to solve that perennial problem first!!!

And no, I can't wear contact lenses and wouldn't want to. Most that do walk around looking goggle eyed as if they are permanently on pot :)))

Unfortunately, no baking

Unfortunately, no baking yesterday. But I do appreciate all the volunteers for taste testing.

The previous

The previous zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz-ing was actually in preparation for a long weekend of playing with trains. I'm doing it again now after said long weekend.

Saturday, I was conductor on the North Shore. Haven't done that in a while and forgot how enjoyable it is. I could have dispatched, but my motorman was on the schedule for it and I didn't say anything.

Sunday, I was dispatcher again. I also spent more time on the streetcar than any of my other days on it so far this year. I had a trainee motorman and I let him run most of the day. The car went a total of 17 laps around the loop and I was on 15 of them. Last year, after I qualified on VC 19, I made a passing reference to it being less foolproof than 3142; this guy is the fool that proves that nothing is foolproof. The Assistant Superintendent (who was my motorman on Saturday) went with him for a couple of trips and came out rather shaken up. Suffice to say, trainee has a long way to go before he's ready to qualify. At one point, he nearly knocked me off my feet; I didn't know the car could leap into motion so suddenly. Another of his screwups caused the A-Sup to not notice that he was screwing up something else at the same time, and then when he did notice, trainee had a big fat royal screwup. Then A-Sup had to call me for permission to make a reverse move. Later, another screwup saved me from my screwup as dispatcher. We both told him what he was doing wrong, but he kept on doing it. I don't think I care to ride with him again soon.

Anyway, my shoulders and arms and legs and feet are aching again, but I think maybe a little less than last week.

Also, I am wearing today a semi-retired pair of pants with a hole in the pocket. I haven't worn them since I bought some new ones a few months ago, but I only realized after I got home last night that I didn't have anything else clean and I was too tired to go downstairs and wash anything. I'll have to do that today.

Oh, before I forget, after hours yesterday, they moved the turntable from Schmidt Siding to the Steam Service Leads for unloading onto cribbing they set up for it. I imagine it will now sit there for several years before the money is raised to do anything with it. Earlier in the afternoon, the Zephyr was out of barn 14, apparently getting inspected and service for next weekend.
