I'm a 30 y/o Carpenter living in sunny Florida. I also create and run promotion events for movies at a local theater. As well as designing and building visual displays for them and fixtures for Bass Pro Shops. Awhile back I had a computer built strictly so I could enjoy the Mass Effect series. Only seemed right that when I'm not playing in the stars there, my computer can help find them here.
I have a custom built computer that would sit, powered off, on my desk whenever I was working or taking a break from gaming to watch a tv series or are otherwise busy. It seemed like a waste not to put it to use in some way. When I found out about BOINC, I jumped on board. I've always enjoyed looking up at the star and reading about interesting things in astrology, so Einstein@Home was a perfect opportunity to help and learn more.
We're nothing, if not curious. There's so much...space...out there, not to want to learn more about it. I support any project that would seek to do that. Gravitational Waves are a step in that process, as such, worth finding.
I'm currently in the process of designing an entertaining coin collector. I got wrapped up in it after looking into those large Wishing Well Coin Vortex things they make but got let down when I found out how expensive they are. If I can get it up and working like I intend, for use at both Bass Pro money raising event and movie promotion events, I'll let all of you know and maybe you can use them to collect funds at various establishments.
I would also suggest contacting theaters around you to inquire about cross promotions for movies taking place in or about space. I good way to spread word about your project and raise funds.
