Hi guys,

Just checking if everything is fine. I'm running this task right now.
31 hours to reach 52% with 28h(i think will be more) to go.

Is it right:

BRP5 and R9 290

Your times are not bad. No, they are HORRIBLE. Something must be very wrong there. Wait, I see you are running that multi-threaded GPUGRID app. That is using ALL CPU cores plus your GPU without BOINC knowing. I'd be really surprised if anything could run well beside that monster. Suspend GPUGRID and see what happens.

I did some tests on GPU Grid

I did some tests on GPU Grid but didnt like the results. Too many fails.
And its not running in my GPU, it was running on my CPU(all cores).

I did also have problems with other projects and GPUGrid.
I have another similar task. I'll abort this one and check if any other project could be the One.

Thanks for the help!

That application is designed to use an AMD GPU if available. Problem is, BOINC doesn't know about this. But I agree, since you're not running GPUGRID now and the slowdown persists, GPUGRID can't be the cause.

My impression is that GPUGRID has problems with the idea of other projects. :->

Back to topic. I remember Einstein tasks being really slow when they had to share my R7 260 with the new Poem OpenCL application. Not only while Poem was running but also after. Perhaps that's something to have a look at.

And then there's the general advice to reserve a CPU core for GPU support. Don't run a full set of CPU tasks, it will slow your GPU down, albeit not as much as we see here.
