( edit ) @Mikey : They are way too cute aren't they ? This pair is lucky in that they will grow up together, snuggle together, feed together etc. Having a similar smelling being around during early development certainly seems to enhance their health and boost survival significantly. And no, to my knowledge at least, I do not smell like a wombat. But they snuggle to a human's chest I think for the feel of the heartbeat rhythm, in addition to warmth ( a very anthropocentric answer I know ). The good news thus is that surrogacy with humans can work well. I don't raise them but subscribe so that others who do are supported.
So is the ultimate goal to re-release them back into the wild at some point or are they destined for a zoo someplace?
Last Saturday, since it was raining, I skipped coach cleaning day at the museum and instead got someone to take me to his model railroad club so I could run my HO scale California Zephyr. The last time, it had a lot of problems (minor physical things with some cars, and the engines not responding to the throttle). Everything was much better this time, although still not flawless.
Anyway, I shot some video with my phone (which is why it's shaky).
It's summer 1954 and the California Zephyr has swollen to 15 cars (76MB), with extra sleepers leased from Chesapeake & Ohio and Illinois Central. Also, the through sleeper to New York was bad ordered there and New York Central RR had to substitute one of its own. The "foreign" cars are placed directly in front of the dome observation to minimize the disruption to the train's public address system.
And, for Dr. Mike, there's also this version (57MB) when the train apparently visited Australia. (I really thought Androids were smart enough by now to know which way is up no matter which way you hold it. Too bad, it's a better video.)

Yeah, me neither.
I'm looking for a Pennsylvania "Rapids" series sleeper to go with it. There are a lot of other cars I could run with it, especially if my engines didn't limit me to 1955, but I've spent enough money on it already.

Yes. And their pouches face backward so when they are excavating they don't fill them up with debris, etc. The little ones probably appreciated that.
