I don"t have any new work

OK, you are using 4.45 or later and have more that one project.

There are three causes for a 0 work request.

1) A host that is overcommitted and cannot accept work from anywhere.
2) A project that has enough work on a host that has enough work.
3) A project that has used some extra CPU time to meet a deadline and is waiting for other projects to catch up.

I expect that your computer is in either state 1 or state 3.

OK, that eliminates ont of the three causes. Did Einstein require extra CPU time to meet a deadline? Is the host overloaded?

I have this same problem but none of these 3 causes seem to be the case with my host.

Until a few minutes ago I had one Protein wu downloaded and one Seti unit being crunched with about one hour remaining on it.

Is it possible that Einstein just doesn't have enough wu's to send out right now?

Or maybe did I accidentally

Or maybe did I accidentally suspend Einstein somehow?

Come on, people. Every time

Come on, people. Every time you get another computer processing data you've effectively increased ur real and personal computation time......

If I answer a question posted by 50 people that makes their computers start crunching then that's 50 more computers I've made work.

Too bad the very interested science people in the science threads don't answer more of these questions.

It's a disservice to the project that all of them profess to believe in.

Have you checked the GUI to

Have you checked the GUI to see if you suspended it? Check under the work tab and project tab, also check to see if you click no more work for that project...Check under file and set to run per preferences make sure you are connected to the net. We people are volunteers just like you dude so try to do some of the leg work yourself.......

4.As a last resort, reset and/or detach, with these you lose all WUs.

Look in your client_state.xml file to see what the long_term_debt fields say for each project. The cutoff is either 0 or - connect every x days (depending on the version).

I've done TONS OF MY OWN LEGWORK. I've spent hours and hours searching through these threads for answers.

Yes, as stated above I am connected to the internet. It's a DSL.

My thinking is that this puter was offline more or less for a few days and maybe that's causing it?

Look, I'm trying to contribute. I'm just asking for a bit of help.
