O-kaaaay :)

Well... I tried out a bit of a charm offensive... *pig eyes*... you know... on the home office crew...

*address fourth wall* yes einsteinians :) you're right ... much screaming and bellowing DID ensue... *frog eyes* But :) let's cut a long story short shall we and just say that a certain arboreal marsupial...

And here they are :)

@David - I'm sorry there aren't two "T's" :) feel free to pretend there are though... Of course *sniff - loud mode* you won't have any hope of getting the word right...

Before I go... I WILL say that this one:

Darn possums ! Beaten by a superior counter-intelligence manoeuvre.

'Crab Count' ? What is this : Deadliest Catch ?

As for the rest, well safety first in the stationery cupboard huh? My nearest/dearest Linda concurs. T'is many a computer case ( with the little sharp metal edges just on the inside ) that I have left my blood within. DNA for later forensics, the ultimate signature.

Don't tell me. This is like QI with Stephen Fry, in total I am way in the negative in any case ! :-)

So that gives an 'E' or an 'R' first then ....

Cheers, Mike.

They DO make a good pair don't they :) one way or... you know... the other...

And if you cast your mind... *hastily duck* ... Oh... I was thinking more figuratively really but um... not to worry... *take wary step backwards from now mindless einsteinians* ...if you CAN think back now, you know to the form of transport which was also incidentally in a cloud... and leave it where it was uncannily wrong but correctly put nevertheless... that might help you too. *Sigh - happy mode - for how generously beneficent anniet is being* :) and then move the other one which isn't transport the same number of spaces right that there is correct letters following it - that would REALLY help you *beam expansively*

Of course... it's quite probable that even when you get the word you won't know you've got it... cos I still keep having to check that it is a word at all :)

Oh. And I was doing so well after the intensive counselling since my last Cleesey Moment ..... it's because I mentioned a certain UK technology entity to you isn't it ? Quite a few mentions now that I recall.

[ why is my foot twitching ... why are the walls going purple ... that's not the normal shape of my hand at all ... what is that neutron star doing in the corner ... Ford... you're turning into a penguin. Stop it ]

Cheers, Mike.

( edit ) Well now. We are a couple of letters short* for SubmarineBucket that, technically, is a form of transport. The sea is under a cloud, all of them actually. But not in a cloud per se. That naturally leads to BrineMucusBet, an obtuse form of wagering related to nasal rinsing. Following inevitably from that we have BribesCutMenu, a very common complaint amongst restaurant managers. By now you can guess that I must mention EnumTruceBibs, an important counting ceremony performed at all peace talks where sloppy food is served. Finally there is CueTimbreBuns being the signal to play musical sounds using bakery products. But you all knew this.

* To be exact I am entering the cerebral condition known in Orstralia as 'having too few kangaroos in the top paddock' .... :-)

NEW WORDS!! :) LOOK! Aren't they GOOD everyone!? I see my ample clues went completely over your head though...

Well... that's where you want your public transport bit... :)

edited for adding bold and underlining bits... and for mentioning a significant letter string that just needs to stay the same but shuffle along a bit... :)

Assuming that my morning improves I'll be back with a deduction-grid-matrix thingy. Now there's a plan !! :-) :-)

Cheers, Mike.

( edit ) Now that I come to look properly : my top paddock kangaroos are actually wallabies and there's only two :

This simply will not do. [ the white one is probably looking for the mobile phone : "I'm sure I heard the ring tone coming from in here" ... :-) ]

( edit ) Aha ! The word 'bus' has emerged from my brain stem ( that's the stalk of the cabbagey bits ). Well, that took long enough didn't it ? I could have been run over by entire fleets of them meantime .... :-)

Okay, I did a grid to tell me

Okay, I did a grid to tell me where letters can't go. It didn't help a whole lot. So far, every position can still have at least 6 of the 10 letters.

STUEBENCRIBUM - something German, not sure what (was STUEBENRUMBIC - a German booze-filled cigarette lighter, but it didn't fit the grid)

Let's see, the last 5 can't be CRIME or CRUMB, just because one letter in each doesn't fit the grid. Those strings also can't be first because at least one letter doesn't fit.

BUSCEMIBUNTER or BUNTERBUSCEMI - Steve's brother the baseball player; both versions have multiple violations of the grid, starting with the U at 2

RECUMBENTIBUS - Apple's public transport vehicle with beds instead of seats

Too soon to tell if it's significant, but the only vowel that can be at 2 is E, and the only one possible for 9 and 11 is I (which means at least one of those positions is a consonant).

No... it wouldn't :) As for stuebencribum... it's actually...

Steubencribum - very expensive fine crystal glass beds (depicting a variety of animals) which are intended to help flea larvae - abandoned in their hundreds of thousands by their parents - to imprint much like baby birds do, on the correct species they must parasitise in order to breed.

In the average home with a pet - but without any steubencribii (plural) - every adult flea is a mal-adjusted and psychotic adult flea... y-e-e-e-s... you heard it here first einsteinians :) ... and these will bite and suck in haphazard frenzy on anything that has a pulse until... eventually/occasionally... hitting upon the right bloodtype needed to produce ever more depraved numbers of offspring.

Little known fact: Steubencribii are why the 0.01 percent will ultimately need 100 percent of all the available wealth in the entire universe. Or rather... *extend nose manually to preposterous length* *slide filthy look all the way down it and... pause* ...how they will justify why they need it

:)

*drum fingertips at an ominous speed* Baseball? Again? In TWO threads? Really?

Recumbentibus you say? :) Well... I wasn't aware of the Apple public transport connection - but thinking about it... it kind of makes sense :)

If I may take a moment to quote... well... myself :)

Quote:

... before continuing...

The definition I have for recumbentibus (a noun) is: "a knockdown blow" ... which... if they are driving around laying people out or shall we say "transporting the public from a vertical to a horizontal state" with any kind of regularity... then it certainly accounts for the beds I suppose :)

If you're interested this is what world wide words has to say about it :)

Quite what Mike is going to say about me saying congratulations David :) you've won I'm not sure... particularly after showing us his really cute wallabies :) ... I mean... he came so close :)

Look! He even mentioned fleets of them...
