I've just attached to the project as a Boinc Alpha core client tester for Berkeley, SSL. I want to apologize, but in the process I may at times be wasting a few WU's in the process, especially using the OS X client. Please bare with me and I will attempt to keep detachments to a minimum. I just want to say I am sorry for any inconvience in advance, but any WU's that are junked will be picked up by someone else further down the line. Thanks for your understanding in advance.

Sorry for the mess....

Eh, don't worry too much about it I would gather. They know doubt would like to know how the project runs under all such configs...so if you encounter something, it'd perhaps be better to know now, rather then after the doors are thrown open.

Anyhow, new myself, but welcome aboard. Sorta remember hearing from you, during that whole (umm, we shouldn't mention his name) ordeal over at SETI Cafe.

Don't worry. We expected to lose quite a number of WUs and know how to deal wit it. They will simply be generated and sent out again. The 4.13 client for example that is still flying around causes dozens of failed results per machine when a download is broken. So your few lost WUs doesn't matter much at all.

Happy testing!

Attention junkie. Bragger. Come on DB, get it over with, tell everyone what machines you have.

Something that you can do to reduce the impact on others is the following. When you trash a workunit, be sure to 'update project' soon afterwards. This way the scheduler and transitioner learn that another result is needed, and issue it fairly soon.
