One of my Computer just resumed calculation on a WU which Deadline was yesterday. Why didn't it notice that?
And how can I avoid such a waste of time?
Thx in advance.
I assume you are talking about units on hostid=941493. If this is the case, then I would carry on with the unit that is processing, if it can be completed in the next few days.
Due to none return yet the unit has been replicated a 3rd time and sent out. If you return before third replication, it will be included in the Validation process.
Set Einstein, until that unit is nearly finished, to 'no new work' and abort the second unit on that computer.
Decide if you can keep that computer on longer to enable an S5R2 unit to complete, or watch the boards and see if the application has been optimised, before returning that host to crunching for Einstein.
I don't believe BOINC actually automatically aborts units because a unit goes past the deadline. CPDN does not cut off at deadline, and the CPDN servers accept trickles etc, if they are received steadily.

No, but there should be a message in the log saying something like “Task X is overdue and may not receive any credit; consider aborting it. (I don’t have an example in front of me to quote, but I have seen such messages before.)
Computer ignoring Deadline?

Thank you. Good to know.
Happy crunching. ~
