Whenever I switch on the graphic window ("Show graphics" button in the "Work" tab)and I maximize the graphic window, only the upper right part of the E@H is displayed. The other part of the graphic window shows frozen graphics from SETI@home.
Does anybody know how to handle this bug ?

Display problem with graphic window
)
A couple of things that would help is if we knew what kind of computer, OS, graphics card, what version of BOINC.
as a general rule, however, make sure you have the latest graphics drivers. Also, it has been mentioned that DirectX may have something to do with it. Make sure you are running the most recent version of DirectX also.
Einstein also has a beta version app released that fixes some graphics problems. If you want to try that it might also solve your problems.
If the above suggestions don't work we will try to start digging a little deeper into the problem. Be prepared to answer a lot of questions about your system.

Thanks for the quick answer !
I updated the driver of my graphic-card Matrox Millenium P650 (to version 1.10.00.037) and now it works !
The only annoyance is that whenever I maximize the graphic window only a part of the graphic is displayed.
In order see the whole graphic I have to close the graphic window and to reopen it.
My OS: WIN XP, 2 screens (1 flat screen + 1 monitor), BOINC-version 4.45,
DirectX 9.0c
Best wishes,

It's good to hear that things are working better for you. I wish I had a better answer to the partial display problem, but it looks like to me you've done everything you can do for now. Perhaps the new Windows version of the Einstein app will correct this problem too.

I assume you use PowerDesk - make sure you run the latest version, too (that might have been updated by installing the driver, but I'm not sure).
Has the boundary of the graphics you see any relationship with the boundary between the screens?

Yes, I use the latest available PowerDesk version.
I can't find any relationship between the problem and the border between the screens.
The display problem - to my oppinion - is only that is does not refresh the display directly when I change the window size. This can be solved by closing the graphic window and reopen it.

It might be worth to take a look at our Beta Test App. It did help for ATI users with different problems - I don't have much hope in your case, though.

Hi,
I have a prob with the viz:
When I boot my machine and click on the "show graphics" button: no problemo, I see the viz. But (he, he, there is always a but) when I close the viz and try to open it again, I can't see anything: the viz doesn't want to open a second time.
P4 2Ghz, CC4.43, Linux Mandrake 10.2, beta test app (006), ATI Radeon 9000.

Ok.
In fact,I'm not sure it's coming from the app. I think it's the ATI driver
I changed the ATI driver for the vesa driver of Xorg, and it's working OK: I can open and close the viz several time without problem (but the 3D acceleration doesn't work anymore)

)
Hm, I've seen the problem you describe when I linked the freeglut instead of the Mesa GLUT. However it is linked statically into the App, thus shouldn't cause any problems for the user...
... Just a side note: The problem with the Windows ATI driver was that it didn't like to be told to switch to the display settings that were already in use. Maybe the Linux ATI driver has a similar problem, and the Mesa GLUT does just that ...
I'll take a look into it when I have a bit more time. Thanks for the report!
Please post it to the App Test thread, too, (if you haven't already done so), so that other users can take a look at this, too.
