FWIW : I did later track down the origin of the 'which doctor?' court mistake. It was the medical admin at a prior hospital had just totally screwed it up. Still, I was paid a nice court appearance fee and a day's pay at the hospital I was then working at ( who forgot to mark me absent, despite being told I would be going to court ). Plus the guy in the green told me where to go [ downstairs on the right, third door on the left, ask for Bob ... type of thing ] to get the appearance fee cheque cashed. So about $400 in the pocket before I left the court precinct .... so I guess they can screw up the subpoenas any time they like from my point of view ! :-)
I did learn one other thing though : if it's not private industry then no-one gives an actual rat's rear end where the money goes.

I get called for jury duty every few years, I even served as foreman one time of a 3 hour trial. They always paid me by check in the mail in a couple of weeks, not in my hand as I walked out, THAT would have been much nicer!! They paid me the full amount though for every day I actually had to go in, even if they made me sit in a room while the defendant negotiated a plea deal in another room. Most days I had to be there by 9:00am and was gone by noon if I wasn't going to be used, a couple of times I was out of there by 9:30am and STILL got the full amount.
As for Starbucks I am not a 'whipped, dipped and whatever' kind of guy, I get a Tall(ie large) Blonde, a type of coffee that isn't very strong, with 2 shots of french vanilla creamer and 2 packets of Splenda. Sometimes I use 3 of each as it's still too strong, I want the coffee taste not the poke you in the nose stuff of STRONG coffee.

He was by far my most favourite character in Star Trek, and the thought that Leonard may have been an einsteinian undercover who couldn't face another TLPSTLWWWTLPPP thread driven by my logic circuits, was a sobering thought :( In fact... it has completely put me off bwah hah-ing for the moment.
So... I will be kind... :) you know... in the next thread :) As much as it is possible for an anniet to be anyway :) Won't be too long...
edit: hopefully :) Think my sister's semi-disabled cat (Bagheera - who has been living with me a little under 20 hours now) may have just fallen into my bin... part of the settling in process I suppose...
