After writing down all of Mike's words and logically eliminating all the wrong letters according to Annie's clues, I found myself left with nine letters right and only two unaccounted letters and places to put them. Phonetically, they only work one way. However, I think I will climb into my hole home and take a nap (or at least lunch) before I claim victory.

Surely you must agree that LoiterCables was too good to let roll on by. Think of them like the reverse of optic fibre. Optic fibre was invented to speed up communications. As this did not sit well at all with a certain UK provider then the tenders went out and what we have today is the fruit of such obversity research.
