As A Registered Medical

As A Registered Medical Practitioner then every advertiser can look up the public register and spam me solid. I have become quite adept at discards now.

'Wealth Creation' is code for 'Give Us Your Money You Fool'.
'Special Deal On The New BenzRollerrari' is 'Twice The Price For Doctors, Mate'.
'Rapidly Approved Finance' means 'Backed By Mick Gatto'.
'Low Interest Finance' certainly means 'High Interest Finance'.
'High Interest Finance' is 'Rapidly Approved Finance' for sure. :-)
'Lifetime Guarantee' means 'Enjoy It Before Mick Turns Up'.

... of course it is possible that Reader's Digest will actually post me a real cheque for $1M one day, and I will bin it without a thought. That is the burden I have chosen to bear.

Cheers, Mike.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

Then we also have the

Then we also have the "Ambulance chasers" with the usual "Have you had an accident that wasn't your fault?" or the current fad for PPI reimbursement. All of course on a no win no fee basis. I actually wrote to one of these PPI merchants and said OK, if we don't win, I will send you an invoice so that you can reimburse me for my time and trouble in dealing with you, is that acceptable?

I heard nothing further .....

Reader's Digest in the UK has been criticised by the Trading Standards Institute for preying on the elderly and vulnerable with misleading bulk mailings that claim the recipient is guaranteed a large cash prize and advising them not to discuss this with anyone else. Following their complaint, the Advertising Standards Authority said they would be launching an investigation. The ASA investigation upheld the complaint in 2008, ruling that the Reader's Digest mailing was irresponsible, misleading (particularly for the elderly) and had breached three clauses of the Committee of Advertising Practice code. Reader's Digest was told not to use this mailing again.

Last things

Last things first:

Quote:
Oh... and hope you had an enjoyable weekend :)

I did, thanks. However, I am attempting to function today on only about four hours' sleep last night and not much more the previous two.

...and was about to have a P put at the beginning.

That would be a good start.

oh WELL DONE anniet! you ??@@@&£ missed something haven't you you... you TART!!

Yes, you have. Hint: it involved Chris asking if the last letter was Y and me saying yes.

Haven't checked these against any of your ... *wrinkle nose manually* ... clues ...

PteriduphoyleBeeriness - mutant vascular plant (descended from ferns) that within minutes of experiencing full sunshine, fall over, drunk. Licking their leaves is said to have a similar effect on the licker.

PeripheryNebulositides - cosmic particle that induces forgetfulness

PrudehibitionsSleepery – bedchambers devoid of all reflective surfaces and lighting. Can result in painful injuries and sometimes concussion.

Pseudoreprehensibility – fake naughtiness

PerditionEyePublishers – British producers of pro-governmental literature that when accidentally read on the way to the bin, invoke visions of hell in the unsuspecting victim

PerinephritisUbeYodels – kidney condition (first discovered in riverside inhabitants of the Ube) that causes incessant bouts of throaty warbling

Annie, dear Annie. One of the above is the correct answer and you don't even realize it. Think about the definition hint again. Think about which one actually makes sense outside of the world of Anniet.

Oh. Well thank you for pointing that out so... succinctly for me, David. *start excavating self from tarmac* why not just try some light bludgeoning next time? There I was thinking it was an underpant discussion ... *l-o-o-o-n-g frank stare* which having invoked a shirt discussion upon a prior occasion once upon a not long enough time ago, I decided to avoid :)

Don't retire them by the way... Try putting them on sideways. Not backwards. Extends their non elasticated upness very well. It's quite difficult - possibly beyond the fine motor skills of men, and will cut off the blood supply to both lower limbs, but you can't have everything...

*winch nose into low earth orbit* You mean that place where very little makes sense at all? Well, if you insist and I then do that, then the only one that fits is Pseudoreprehensibility and when you decided to jumble it ... it was most defintely ... NOT!

:)

kind regards and all that stuff, Heisenberg annie

There is an Annie Heisenberg ? AND she's the Mother of I-Got-The-Ruddy-Nobel Werner ? She gave birth to Mr Tiny Mechanics himself ?

I'm serious now. Which one of you lot has invented time travel ? Come on, own up ! If no one will snitch then it won't be pseudoreprehensibility that will be the bother. I'll actually be reprehensible. Right up yer nose. There will be no doubt about it. Not a whisker of uncertainty at all. I'll go up your nasal passages quicker than you can say Quantum. One of you snotty perverse lot has got a time machine and is not sharing with the rest of this kindergarten. Who is it ? I'm waiting ....

You must admit that Peter Capaldi is outstanding in The Thick Of It. Sort of Yes Minister on crystal meth.

Meantime I need some sort of anti-surreality co-incidence shielding.

Cheers, Mike.

If it involves any kind of machinery, you can rest assured if I had done, it would have developed a not insignificant fault that would have put distinct crimps in a lot of people's days *look sadly at son's printer*

Yes :) My other half was watching it (midst much guffawing) earlier this year, and mid-torrent of punctuative bad language emanating from the screen, had the audacity to moan at our nineteen year old for a certain f word escaping his lips when the cat painted orange pawprints across a university assignment he was working on at the time. I thought it a little rich given the circumstances :)
